Frequently Asked Questions

RAA Member Benefits
Q.How do I find out all the benefits of my membership?
When joining the RAA you will receive our Product & Service Guide which provides a full outline of all the benefits associated with your RAA Membership. If you've misplaced this guide email the RAA Membership department or download it here. The Member Services pages also provide details on many benefits that you are entitled to.
Q.Does my membership give me discounts anywhere else?
Yes. In addition to the discounts that you receive on many RAA services and when purchasing at the RAA Travellers Shop, special member offers are available through our Show Your Card and Save program. Participating retailers in South Australia and Broken Hill have developed offers exclusive to RAA Members.
Q.I'm driving to Brisbane. Can the RAA provide me with maps?
Yes. RAA Tourism Services provides up-to-date strip maps free of charge to members. Regional maps and information on tourist attractions can also be provided. You can get these maps from any RAA branch or request them over the phone. Our most popular strip maps are now also able to be downloaded from the Holidays section of the site. These are available only to RAA members who have registered for access to the exclusive member only online content. When planning your trip, you may wish to pre-purchase selected theme park tickets at member's only rates for express entry or book your accommodation or hire car through the RAA before you leave.
Q.As an RAA member, do I have to pay for RAA vehicle inspections?
Yes. Our member only vehicle inspections are competitively priced with three types to choose from. Pre-purchase, end-of-warranty, after accident repairs and safety check inspections are available and may be carried out at one of our three service centres or on site, for example at the dealer's premises. For more information on RAA vehicle inspections, go to the Your Car section.
Online Member Access
Q.What additional content can I access as an online member?
Currently RAA online members can access printable strip & SA town maps, search a library of new & used car reviews, view current & archived SA Motor articles and access legal advice. As a security measure, you will also need to be logged in to the site to change your address. Find out more about accessing RAA member only content here.
Q.I'm an RAA member, how do I get access to member only content?
The first time you wish to access member only content, you should register. This involves submitting your membership number, postcode and contact details. You will also be asked to nominate a password. On each subsequent visit to the RAA site, to access exclusive member only content, simply enter your membership number in the Login box and then your password in the pop up box that appears.
Q.I've registered for online access, how do I know if I'm logged in to the site?
The indicator that you're logged in to access RAA member only content is the appearance of 'Hi your name' in the upper right corner of the screen. You'll then have ready access to all member only content on the site.
Q.I'm trying to register for online access, but I'm getting an error message.
To verify that you are a current financial RAA member, when you register we check your membership number against the postcode that we have recorded in our membership database. If you have recently moved home and haven't notified us of your new address, we will still have your old postcode on file. You will be able to register using this postcode and then update your address details online. If you continue to have problems please email us.
Q.I'm a member of an interstate motoring club, can I access your online content?
No, unfortunately our member only content is available to current RAA members only as an extra benefit of their membership. Some of our sister clubs have also developed exclusive online content for their members, so you may like to check what your club offers you.
Road Service
Q.How many road service calls can I make under my membership?
The number of road service calls that you are entitled to depends on your level of membership. RAA Premium and Plus memberships offer unlimited road service calls. Standard members are limited to only 8 free call outs per membership year. Each road service call out over this is charged at $49.50.
Q.I am a standard member. If I do not use my 8 emergency road service calls, do they accumulate?
No, road service calls do not accumulate from year to year. But your RAA membership offers much more than just road service, so why not find out about the other member benefits?
