Your Privacy is Important to Us

The statement below outlines the RAA Insurance general philosophy in relation to privacy and is intended to provide a brief yet clear statement about how RAA Insurance manages personal information.

Use of your Personal Information
RAA Insurance is committed to protecting the privacy of its customers by abiding to the National Privacy Principles [NPPs] contained within the Privacy Act (as amended).

The personal information you give us is used to assess the extent of (insurance) risk that you have proposed to us. It also plays a part in determining fair and competitive premiums and in regards to claims in particular, helps us in determining your entitlement. If you do not want to provide the information we request, then this can either delay or prevent us from providing the insurance cover you want or allowing a claim.

As a normal part of our business activities, claims related information is provided to and on occasions obtained from Insurance Reference Service Ltd. This is a company independent of RAA Insurance, which collates and distributes claims data to and from other general insurers. Also, limited information is at times provided to other general insurers when confirming or seeking to confirm insurance related details involving claims or policy entitlements.

We do not rent, sell or trade your information. We use your personal details to ensure that our records are correct and in order to provide you with the best possible services and products.

From time to time RAA or one of its related companies may contact you with some direct offers that may of interest to you. Please contact us on 1300 88 4567 if you do not wish to receive direct offers from the RAA.


Privacy of your information is important to us
If you wish to gain access to your personal information that we hold on our records, or have a problem with how we have used your personal information, we would like to speak to you about it, please contact us on 1300 88 4567.

The matter will be referred to the RAA Insurance Privacy Officer, who can provide assistance in lodging a complaint or lodging an access request. The RAA Insurance Privacy Officer has the appropriate authority to deal with privacy complaints, or if necessary, may be referred to an Internal Dispute Resolution Committee, in which case you will be advised of a decision within 15 (fifteen) working days. Every effort will be made to equitably address privacy concerns prior to referral to an external body.

In the unlikely event that your complaint is unresolved, you will be advised of the Federal Privacy Commissioner. Details of the Federal Privacy Commissioner are as follows, however such independent parties will only become involved when all internal avenues have been exhausted:-
