How a Personal Alert System works

  • 1. What's in the box?

    The system includes a base unit and a waterproof neck pendant or wrist band.

    The pendant/wristband has a range of 150m and can be worn around the house, in the garden, and even in the shower.

    Please note: given the range, our personal alert systems won't work when residents are out of range, like if they're on an outing, or away from the village.

  • 2. Press the Button

    When help is needed, the wearer simply presses the button on the monitoring unit, or on the neck pendant or wristband.

    This will connect them directly to RAA's 24/7 monitoring centre.

  • 3. Monitoring Centre

    Our consultant will first attempt to talk to the resident through the speaker in the base unit.

    Regardless of whether or not our consultant can contact the resident, they’ll quickly assess the situation and respond accordingly.

  • 4. Help at Hand

    Depending on the situation, we'll contact emergency services, or the resident's nominated contacts.

    If we're unable to determine the nature of the situation, or we can't locate a nominated contact person, we'll automatically arrange for an ambulance to attend. Safety and dignity is our priority.
