Training and development programs

We give you a range of experiences and opportunities to move your career forward. Development options range from technical training so you can learn new skills through to our ‘Leading at RAA’ suite of leadership development programs. RAA offers opportunities for staff to get involved in projects, working groups, and secondments, or you can apply for our Study Support program which funds role-relevant tertiary education programs.

Summer Internship Program


Australian Association of Graduate Employers Top Intern Programs 2021 Award Winner Logo     

Our Summer Internship Program offers penultimate and final-year university students eight weeks of paid work experience over the summer break. For two years running, this program has been recognised as one of the Top Intern Programs by The Australian Association of Graduate Employers.

Providing budding professionals with valuable industry experience and the opportunity to see our values and culture first-hand, participants will contribute to the positive and memorable experiences we continue to deliver to our members and gain insight into a rewarding career at RAA. 

We take on summer interns from a range of disciplines depending on business needs. Opportunities are advertised mid-year on our GradAustralia page, SeekLinkedIn and University Career Hubs.

Applications will be accepted via our current vacancies page, including your CV and cover letter addressing essential criteria. Applications submitted without a tailored cover letter will not be considered. You must have Australian working rights and be available for the full duration of the internship to be eligible to apply. 

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to undertake psychometric assessment, a video introduction and an interview at RAA Head Office. If you’re successful, you’ll get a verbal offer followed by a formal contract. You’ll also be invited to come in for coffee to meet your team and the other interns at Head Office before you start.

Data and Cyber Graduate Program

As we grow in the digital space, we need specialised IT talent to help us evolve across a broad range of business areas, including app and web development, data science and mining, UX, AI, cloud technology and cyber security.

We’re looking for ambitious graduates in the data and cyber space to excel at RAA, helping us to move in the right direction. We’ll support you to thrive in our purpose-led culture, giving you a range of experiences and opportunities to move your career forward.

Our 18-month Graduate Program commencing in Feb 2023, offers:

Work Integrated Learning


We’re proud to offer undergraduate students with Work Integrated Learning opportunities for university course credit. This program gives you the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice in a diverse business, develop skills in a corporate environment and upskill at your own pace.

We take on students from a range of disciplines, including Finance, IT, Human Resources, Public Policy, Marketing and Law.

How does RAA's recruitment process work?

  • Step 1

    Vacancies and applications

    Vacancies are advertised on our website, sites like Seek and sometimes in The Advertiser. 

    We always provide a link to the relevant position description and selection criteria and you all applications need to be lodged electronically through the ‘apply now’ button on the online ad. 

    Once you’ve submitted an application, you’ll get an email to let you know we’ve received it.

  • Step 2


    After the closing date, your application will be reviewed against the selection criteria to determine if your skills, abilities and experience are a match.

    We try to shortlist for interviews within 2 weeks of the closing date, and you’ll be notified within 4 weeks if we’ve chosen not to progress your application.

  • Step 3


    The next step is to come in for an interview, where we’ll ask questions about your skills, abilities and experience relevant to the role you’re applying for. 

    It’s also an opportunity for you to find out more about the role and RAA, so you’re encouraged to ask questions.

    You should know the outcome of your interview within 2 weeks.

  • Step 4

    Checks and selection

    All shortlisted applicants need a Police Clearance and some roles may require some further testing or assessments or a pre-employment medical. 

    If you’re successful, you’ll get a verbal offer followed by a formal contract and information pack.
