Nick Reade

Chief Executive Officer RAA

Nick joined RAA in August 2022 as just the sixth leader in the organisation's nearly 120-year history.

With a wealth of experience in business, government and financial services, Nick most recently led the State's public sector as Chief Executive of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Prior to that he was CEO of BankSA and former General Manager of Westpac SA/NT/WA.

Joining RAA at a time of significant growth, Nick brings a focus on strategy, community, digital and innovation to navigate the organisation well into the future.

Proudly South Australian, Nick has a fundamental belief in the important role RAA can play in improving the lives of members and the future of our State.

James Galdes

Chief Technology Officer
BEng (Comp Sys) (Hons 1M)

Joining the Executive team in March 2023, James brings a breadth of experience and skills to RAA from a career spanning more than 15 years in IT services, technical advisory, project management, digital strategy and architecture and more.

Coming from his own consultancy, Agilize, James has also worked in senior Government roles, including Chief Digital Officer and Chief Enterprise Architect with the Department of Premier and Cabinet. He's also held the position of IT Development and Operations Manager at Raytheon, Consulting Architect at Optus and boasts experience at a range of other cloud-technology service companies the likes of Kloud Solutions, Alphawest and Internode.

James is excited to lead the organisation in its technology transformation journey, creating exceptional digital solutions for both staff and members.

Michael Healy

Chief Marketing Officer

Joining the team in January 2023, Michael has more than 20 years of marketing experience across international network agencies and large publicly listed brands (including BankSA and Westpac in South Australia) and is one of New Zealand and Australia’s most awarded and effective commercial marketers.

Prior to joining RAA, Michael spent four years as chief marketing officer at Meridian where he led the marketing organisation and multi-brand strategy through a period of unprecedented retail growth across the Meridian and Powershop brands, led the development and launch of the Zero public charging network, introduced the Certified Renewable Energy decarbonisation program, and was a finalist for New Zealander Marketer of the Year in 2020 – amongst other things.

Michael has held accountability for every marketing discipline from media to sponsorship to data driven marketing and martech. As a proven and experienced senior leader, Michael combines his people-first ethos with a strong commercial and numbers focus to deliver results for stakeholders – while having a bit of fun.

Gina Norman

General Manager Travel and Distribution
BSc

Gina Norman joined RAA in August 2018. With a Bachelor of Science with a double major in psychology, and anatomy and histology, Gina has more than 20 years’ experience in customer service, tourism and retail industries. She's held a number of senior roles including General Manager SA/NT at Flight Centre Travel Group, and Chief Performance Officer at Bedford Group.

Gina’s focus on strategy, operational excellence and consistently motivating her teams to exceed their growth targets has seen her win state, national and global awards for outstanding performance throughout her career.

Dorothy Nycz

General Manager Automotive Services

Starting with RAA in January 2022, Dorothy Nycz was appointed to lead Automotive Services due to her varied experience in business management. With a strong background in a range of South Australian industries and areas including State Government, Health, and Community services, Dorothy is passionate about our people, and being better for our State and members. She manages our iconic patrol network, and our varied motoring services, with a focus on future-proofing these historic offerings.

Ben Owen

Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager Home & Energy

Ben Owen joined RAA in January 2023 as our Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and General Manager Home & Energy. He is passionate about making a difference for our members by working closely with executives and their teams to drive RAA’s strategy, innovation and next growth business of Home and Energy.

With nearly 20 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across the financial services sector, Ben has a successful track record in formulating, developing, and executing enterprise-wide strategy, business planning, innovation, and transformation. He has led scale teams across some of Australia’s largest banks and, prior to joining RAA, Ben was State General Manager, Consumer and Business Banking at BankSA and Westpac SA & NT.

Sam Pafumi

Chief Financial Officer

Sam Pafumi joined RAA as Chief Financial Officer in early 2021. Sam has an extensive background in finance, spanning the motoring, wine and spirits industries. He has strong strategic leadership experience with global organisations, most recently as CFO for Mitsubishi Motors Australia. Sam oversees our Finance, Investments and Business Improvement functions.

Tara Page

Chief Executive, RAA Insurance

Tara Page was appointed as Chief Executive of RAA Insurance in May 2023. Tara was Acting Chief Executive prior to the appointment after being seconded from her role as the first Chief Governance and Risk Officer for the RAA Group, which she began in 2022. Tara has extensive legal and governance experience and has been with RAA since 2017, joining as the first General Counsel.

Through her time at RAA, Tara has expanded her role and the expertise within RAA, now managing Risk, Compliance, Legal, Procurement and Governance across the business as well as undertaking the role of Company Secretary for both RAA and RAA Insurance. With a commercial and practical approach to governance and risk, Tara supports RAA to meet its regulatory obligations and make a positive contribution to the lives of its members and the wider community.

Emily Perry

General Manager Community and Corporate Affairs
BA (Journalism), GradDipMgt

Joining the Executive team in late 2020, Emily Perry leads Community and Corporate Affairs at RAA. With a passion for social value and community impact, she has a broad range of communications, media and business management experience, most recently at BHP. She’s also worked extensively in the motoring sector, with almost a decade under her belt at General Motors. Emily oversees RAA’s Public Policy, Government, Corporate Communications and Creative Services, Education, and Community work.

Laura Schonfeldt

Chief People Officer

Laura joined RAA as Chief People Officer in October 2023. Most recently she was the Executive Director, People and Culture, with the Department of Education, having previously worked for more than a decade in senior people roles in national agribusiness and insurance companies including Elders, and QBE in both Sydney and Adelaide. Laura holds an MBA from the University of South Australia, where she is now part of their Executive Partners mentoring program.

Susan Crago

Chief Governance and Risk Officer
LLB, BCom, GDLP, MBA, GAICD

Susan Crago joined as our Chief Governance and Risk Officer in October 2023 and leads the legal, governance, compliance and risk functions at RAA. Susan has worked at the intersection of the legal and finance sectors in senior roles for over 20 years. Susan began her career as a practicing lawyer before moving into the banking sector. Since that time Susan has held a number of senior roles at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank spanning areas such as legal, risk and compliance management, business continuity, risk and control maturity uplift, customer remediation and liaison with internal and external audit and with regulators. Susan has a demonstrated ability in leading large and diverse teams and has experience in delivering complex organisational changes.

Susan sits on a number of government and not for profit advisory boards and committees.
