Since 2021, we’ve been taking steps to modernise your RAA so we can deliver the best possible services and products for members for another 120 years.

As a next step in our governance journey, RAA is looking at moving all of our operations under the Corporations Act, rather than the Associations Act we currently operate under.

The Associations Act is intended for much smaller clubs and not for profits. Now with more than 810,000 members, and being a diverse and growing business, we believe we have outgrown the Associations Act. This is a move most of our network of interstate motoring clubs have already made - and now we’re looking at whether it will better serve our members’ interests too.

This won’t impact your reason for being with RAA. We are South Australia’s largest and most trusted mutual organisation. That won’t change under the moves being considered.

We already own three businesses that operate under the Corporations Act. We think it makes sense to align our entities under the one Act.

We’ll be exploring this change more over the coming year. Of course, if the RAA Board decides this change is in the best interests of our members and helps RAA become a stronger and more modern organisation, we’ll put this matter to member vote so you can have your say.
