Since 2021, we've been taking steps to modernise your RAA so we can deliver the best possible services and products for members – now and for the next 120 years.

At our 2024 Annual General Meeting, members supported the next step in this journey; from 1 July 2025, RAA will become a Company Limited by Guarantee. This change means we will move our operations under the Corporations Act, rather than the Associations Act, which we currently operate under.

Why the change? The Associations Act is designed for smaller clubs and not for profits. With more than 830,000 members, and a growing portfolio of services and businesses, RAA has outgrown this form of governance.

This change will strengthen how we operate, support good governance, and ensure we continue delivering great value to our members well into the future.

What won't change? Your reason for being with RAA. We remain South Australia's largest and most trusted mutual organisation, and that core identity will stay the same.

RAA members don't need to do anything. From 1 July 2025, our new Constitution will come into effect, and we'll update our membership terms and conditions to reflect the new structure.
