Car Insurance claim

Even the most minor accident can be stressful in the moment. Follow these simple steps to make your claim quicker and easier.

What you need to lodge your claim:
  • Your vehicle registration number.
  • Details of the crash – date, time, location, etc.
  • Name, address and contact details of anyone else involved and/or any witnesses. 
  • The police report number, if and as required by law.

What to do after an accident
  • If you can, move your car away from danger, or at a minimum turn on your emergency indicators.
  • Exchange information with any other parties involved, making sure to get:

    • The other driver’s name, address and contact details.
    • The name, address and contact details of the vehicle’s owner.
    • The vehicle’s registration.
  • Take down the date, time and location of the incident.
  • Take photos of any damage to all the vehicles and/or property involved, as long as it’s safe.
  • Report the crash to the police if you think total damages will be more than $3,000.
