With an increasing number of cyclists using the South Australian road and cycle path network and approximately two in ten of our members having gone for a bike ride in the last 12 months, we thought it was time to ask our members for their thoughts.

So we launched our first Risky Rides survey in 2020 to identify the roads, cycle lanes and paths that pose the biggest risk to cyclists – empowering us to advocate for safer cycling infrastructure for our members and for all South Australians.

We received a total of 933 Risky Rides nominations from 471 survey respondents, with most (82%) being for on-road cycle lanes in metropolitan Adelaide. Nominations for off-road cycle paths and regional locations were also reviewed and summarised.

We've highlighted the top Risky Rides on this page and you can also view our fact sheet and the full 2020 report.
