RAA Energy is winding down
RAA Energy was built to give members a genuine alternative in the energy market — better value, no surprises, backed by a name you trust. We succeeded in doing just that — for a simple monthly fee, RAA members got access to electricity usage rates without the retail mark-up.
Since we launched there has been a change to the partnership underpinning RAA Energy and despite an extensive search, we were unable to find a new partner able to continue the offer the way it was intended. There have also been positive regulatory changes in the energy market that help transparency on energy pricing that support what we set out to do.
Together, these changes mean we’ve made the decision to exit and close RAA Energy.
For current customers, rates are protected and your energy will continue to be seamlessly managed by the same underlying provider, 1st Energy. The main change is the name on the bill, and there's nothing customers need to do.
All RAA Energy customers have been contacted directly with what this means for them.

Will my rates change?
No. Your current rates are protected and won't change as a result of this transfer.

Do I need to sign a new contract?
No. There's nothing new to sign and no fees attached to this change.

Will my payment arrangements keep working?
Yes. Your payment set-up carries across automatically.

What about my solar credits, concessions or rebates?
They all continue as they are. There's no need to re-apply.

Can I still access my RAA Energy portal?
Yes – until your account transitions to 1st Energy, your portal link, username, and password remain exactly the same. Log in as you normally would at portal.energy.raa.com.au. We'll let you know ahead of any changes to how you access your account.

Not yet. Until your account transitions to 1st Energy, you can continue to reach us the same way – call us on 8202 8118 or email contact@energy.raa.com.au. We'll let you know ahead of any changes.

When does the transition to 1st Energy happen?
The transfer will happen by 1 December 2026 at the latest. We'll be in touch directly before anything changes for you.

Will my energy supply be interrupted?
No. The transfer happens automatically in the background – your energy supply will continue without interruption.

What if I'd prefer not to move?
You're always free to choose your energy provider. You can compare plans for free at the Australian Government's Energy Made Easy website.

Am I still an RAA member?
This has no impact on your RAA membership or any of the other benefits and services available to you.

There are 4 ways to pay your bill:
- Direct Debit or SmoothPay from your credit or debit card through our direct debit request form.
- Direct debit from your bank account through the RAA Energy portal.
- Once off payment using your credit or debit card through our online payment form.
- BPAY. Use your unique details on your bill to pay through your bank.
